We are South Dakota seniors who wakeup every day ready to embrace our best life. When you cross the 'senior' threshold—50, 60, 70 and beyond depending on your circumstances and mindset—life changes. We are here to celebrate the vibrant season of senior. 

Vicki Dar, our 64 year-old veteran publisher, started Eagle Publishing in 1986 in Washington state. As a mother of two young children striving to be the best parent possible, she searched for resources to help her family thrive. Not finding an easy reference. She decided to publish one. It proved successful and over the years, she added monthly magazines—the Inland NW Family Magazine and Northwest Woman magazine in addition to resource guides for families, seniors and teens. Active in the Spokane community, Vicki also created an event arm of the company, hosting women's networking events every other month and organizing corporate fundraising events.

Charles Eagleson, is Vicki's 71 year-old ally in life, love, business and the pursuit of happiness. Charles, also known as Doug, is the extrovert in the mix. He, too, has many years in business under his belt. After an early career in government and political campaigns, Doug, then living in Hawaii, left to start a coffee exporting business. It turned out to be a stepping stone to the birth of Kona Bay Fabrics in 1991. Kona Bay produced cotton quilting fabric that was sold around the globe. With a love of the written word, he started Asian Fabric magazine in 2007 later changing the name to Fabric Vine to support to support a new online wine business he established. 

After Charles retired in 2017, he and Vicki planned a four month visit to South Dakota in 2018. Vicki's brother Ben and his wife Evie have lived in Spearfish, South Dakota for the last 40+ years. After the first 4 months, the visit was extended to 8 months.  In the end, Vicki and Doug never left and now live and work in a beautiful historic home in Deadwood, South Dakota.
